High-Temperature Spray Adhesive for Campervans, Vans and Vehicle Trim

Achieve a strong, professional bond with DeadSound Trim Fix 120 High Heat Spray Adhesive. Designed for automotive, campervan and commercial vehicle interiors, this easy-to-use aerosol adhesive is suitable for carpet lining, headlining, selected foams, insulation, fabric and interior trim.

  • Fast tack for efficient installation
  • Strong, permanent bond
  • Suitable for vertical and overhead applications
  • Clear-drying finish
  • Easy aerosol application
  • Available as a single can or value 12-pack

Material Compatibility

Material or application Suitability
4-way stretch carpet lining Suitable
Automotive headlining and fabric Suitable
Plywood, MDF and timber panels Suitable
Painted metal and aluminium Suitable when clean and properly prepared
Selected closed-cell foam and insulation Test first for compatibility
Rubber, cardboard and many plastics Test a hidden area first
Moving trim, safety equipment or mechanical components Not suitable

Material formulations vary. Always test a small hidden area first, especially on foam, rubber, plastic and coated surfaces.

Ideal Applications

  • Campervan and motorhome carpet lining
  • Automotive headlining
  • Door cards and trim panels
  • Conversion furniture lining
  • Speaker boxes and custom interiors
  • Selected thermal and acoustic insulation materials
  • Cars, vans, motorhomes, horseboxes, boats and specialist vehicles

Suitable Vehicles

Trim Fix 120 can be used in conversion and interior-trim projects involving vehicles such as the VW Transporter, Ford Transit Custom, Renault Trafic, Vauxhall Vivaro, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, MAN TGE, Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Relay. Suitability depends on the material being bonded rather than the vehicle model.

How to Apply

  1. Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease and contamination.
  2. Shake the can thoroughly before use.
  3. Mask surrounding surfaces and protect areas from overspray.
  4. Spray an even coat onto both bonding surfaces from approximately 15–20cm away.
  5. Allow the adhesive to become tacky for approximately 1–3 minutes.
  6. Carefully position the materials and apply firm, even pressure.
  7. Allow the bond to cure before trimming edges or placing the area under heavy stress.

Work in manageable sections. Avoid covering drainage holes, wiring, airbags, seatbelt systems, vents, fixings and moving parts. Always follow the safety and application instructions printed on the can.

Coverage

One can typically covers approximately 2–4m², depending on surface porosity, the material being bonded, overspray and application method. A full carpet-lining project may require several cans, particularly where adhesive is applied to both surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this suitable for campervan carpet lining?

Yes. Trim Fix 120 is designed for automotive and campervan interior applications and is suitable for bonding 4-way stretch carpet to correctly prepared vehicle panels and conversion furniture.

Can it be used on ceilings and headlining?

Yes. Its high-temperature performance makes it suitable for overhead applications when both surfaces are compatible, correctly prepared and bonded as directed.

Should I spray one surface or both?

For the strongest bond, apply an even coat to both compatible surfaces unless the instructions on the can state otherwise.

How many cans do I need?

One can typically covers around 2–4m². The required quantity depends on surface porosity, the area being covered and whether both surfaces are sprayed.

Can it bond foam or insulation?

It can be suitable for selected foam and insulation products, but material formulations vary. Test a small area first and avoid use where the solvent may affect the material.

Can it be used on wood?

Yes. It can be used on suitable clean, dry plywood, MDF and timber surfaces. Porous boards may absorb more adhesive and reduce coverage.

Is it waterproof?

It is intended for protected vehicle-interior use. It should not be treated as a waterproofing product or used as a substitute for sealing leaks, joints or exposed exterior surfaces.

How long should I wait before trimming?

Allow the bond to establish before cutting or placing the material under tension. Exact working and cure times vary with temperature, ventilation, coating thickness and substrate, so follow the instructions printed on the can.

What is the difference between the single can and 12-pack?

The adhesive is the same. The single can suits smaller jobs, while the 12-pack offers better value for full conversions, workshops and professional installers.

Why Choose DeadSound?
